2015 Pinot Noir

A positively lovely color in the glass leads to a nose of ripe strawberries, fine tea leaves, and dried violets.  The silky palate is brushed with pomegranate, juicy strawberries, and a delicate touch of maple, followed by a graceful, elegant finish.  220 cases produced. 13.1% abv.

In 2015 2015 we began to emerge from the drought with 22.9 inches of rainfall (80% of average). The warm summer stressed the vines early which accelerated ripening and concentrated the fruit flavors in the grapes. Harvest started with Pinot Noir on August 17, then it was a fast and furious September: Chardonnay and Viognier, then Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot, and finally Cabernet Franc on September 30. The last wines were pressed off October 12.
