First reviewed in 2008 with 94 points by Wine & Spirits Magazine, this wine comes from grapes planted in our Finley Vineyard in 1999, which began with cuttings from nearby Maridon Vineyards. The Syrah's nose picks up blackberry jam, eucalyptus and great campfire memories. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied, with blackberries, figs, and smoked chops with a light sprinkling of thyme. The finish is smooth and long-lasting with figs, spices, and tannins on the tongue. The wine was aged 11 months in French oak, and 312 cases were bottle in August 2004.
