1995 Proprietor's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Special Library Release)

The 1995 Proprietor’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is from the 2-acre George’s Vineyard and is the 20th vintage from this vineyard, which our winemaker, George Cooper, established in 1972 under the tutelage of legendary winemaker Martin Ray with cuttings from the original Paul Masson vineyards.

The grapes for this unblended, unfiltered wine were picked on November 3 at 21.8 Brix, 3.52 pH, and .81 TA.  The wine was barrel fermented in French oak for 20 months.  The wine, of which only 340 cases were produced, was released in February 1999.

Another repeat award winner, the 1995 Proprietor’s Reserve won Silvers at the 1998 World Wine Championships, California State and Los Angeles County Fairs, and the Indy International Wine Competition.

From The Wine Spectator: A pretty, cherry-like core dominates this somewhat delicate Cabernet. Smoky oak, herb and blackberry flavors fan out on the finish, which has firm tannins.  (11/15/99)
