February 2018

  • February 24, Open That Bottle Night!  More than just a few of us have at least one bottle of wine that we've been saving for just the right time to open...  and we save, save, save it.  Well!  Open That Bottle Night gives us a reason to finally find out what's under that cork. Started by Dorothy J. Gaither and John Brecher when they wrote about wine for the Wall Street Journal, the last Saturday of February has become an annual event for wine afficcianadoes to pull out that special bottle and enjoy - which is what wine's all about anyway!  We have some magnums in the Tasting Room if you decide to share with a bunch of your friends, or you can go with our Library Wine of the Month, the 2002 R.V.'s Fine Claret, a yummy Bordeaux-style blend.  (R.V. Garrod was known by the family as Grandpa.  A British immigrant, he enjoyed a glass of "claret" each evening.)  Cheers!
