1997 Chardonnay, Gravel Ridge Vineyard The wine went through full malolactic fermentation and was barrel-aged in French oak for 11 months.  This vintage maintains the light golden color and tantalizing nose which also initiated the appeal of our popular 1995 & 1996 vintages.  1,292 cases were made.  This vintage garnered numerous awards, including: Gold & Best of Show White, 1999 San Francisco Bay Wine Competition Gold, 1999 Riverside International Wine Competition Silver & Award of Merit, 1999 California State Fair Silver, 1999 West Coast International Wine Competition Silver, 2000 San Diego County Fair Bronze, 1999 Indy International Wine Competition Bronze, 1999 Los Angeles County Fair Bronze, 1999 Orange County Fair
