1996 Chardonnay The 1996 Cooper-Garrod Estate Chardonnay comes from the Gravel Ridge Vineyard.  The wine went through full malolactic fermentation and was barrel-aged in French oak for 10 months.  This vintage maintains the light golden color and tantalizing nose which also initiated the appeal of our popular 1995 vintage.  In the mouth, enjoy a playful mix of casaba melon, spicy apple, and very light citrus flavors that meld with a certain vanilla creaminess and continue their pleasantries with light caramel notes in the lingering finish.  825 cases were made.  The 1996 Cooper-Garrod Estate Chardonnay garnered a gold at the prestigious 1998 Los Angeles County Fair.
